Halupkies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. hamburg
    1 c. chopped onion
    salt to taste
    1 large head cabbage
    2 c. rice
    1 stick oleo
    pepper to taste
    2 qt. tomatoes
Preparation
    Brown onion in oleo.
    Cook rice in boiling water for 5 minutes and drain.
    Combine hamburg, browned onion, rice, salt and pepper in bowl.
    Remove core of cabbage.
    Cook in boiling water to loosen leaves and soften.
    Remove leaves from water; drain and cool. Stuff cabbage leaves with hamburg mixture and wrap.
    Place in layers in large pot.
    Pour tomatoes on top.
    Cover pot.
    Simmer for 1 hour.
