Christmas Wassail - cooking recipe
Ingredients

4 c. apple cider
1 c. packed brown sugar
1 c. frozen lemon juice concentrate
1 c. orange juice
6 whole cloves
6 whole allspice berries
1 Tbsp. nutmeg
2 to 3 cinnamon sticks
Preparation

Combine cider and juices in a kettle.
Tie cloves and allspice in a cheesecloth bag.
Add to cider with nutmeg and cinnamon sticks.
Add brown sugar gradually to suit taste.
Red food coloring may be added, if desired.
Cover and simmer 20 minutes. Remove spice bag.
Serve hot in mugs.
Serves 24.
