Freezer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head cabbage
    1 large carrot
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 green pepper
    1 tsp. whole mustard seed
    1 c. vinegar
    1/4 c. water
    1 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/2 to 2 c. sugar
Preparation
    Shred cabbage; put tablespoon of salt over and let stand 1 hour.
    Drain.
    Shred carrot and pepper; add to cabbage.
    Cook, boil 1 minute, then cool to lukewarm, whole mustard seed, vinegar, celery seed, water and sugar.
    Mix vegetables and syrup together. May keep in refrigerator or put in containers and freeze.
