Peppered Steak - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. round steak or sirloin
    3 Tbsp. butter or oleo
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 clove garlic, crushed
    1/4 tsp. ginger, pepper and sugar
    1/4 c. soy sauce
    1 c. sliced onions
    2 green peppers, cut in strips or chunks
    3 fresh tomatoes, cut into wedges
    1 c. beef broth
    1 Tbsp. cornstarch
    1/4 c. water
Preparation
    Cut meat into 1/4-inch strips.
    Brown in oleo, adding garlic and saute.
    Add broth and simmer 30 minutes.
    Move meat to side of skillet; add soy sauce, spices, onions and green pepper.
    Cook 5 minutes.
    Blend cornstarch and water; add to skillet and cook slowly until thickened.
    Add tomatoes; cover and cook 5 minutes longer.
    Serve hot over rice.
