Chow-Chow - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. green tomatoes
    1 large cabbage
    12 green peppers
    2 lb. onions
    2 Tbsp. salt
    1 qt. vinegar
    1/2 pkg. pickling spices
    3 lb. sugar
Preparation
    Chop or grind vegetables.
    Put in a large bowl.
    Sprinkle salt over the vegetables.
    Soak overnight.
    Drain well by squeezing in palm of hands.
    Add vinegar, spices tied in cloth bag and sugar to vegetables; boil for 30 minutes.
    Seal in sterilized hot jars. Makes 12 pints.
