White Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/4 c. sugar
    1/2 c. sour cream
    1/4 c. evaporated milk
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. light corn syrup
    1/4 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. coarsely chopped nuts
    1/3 c. quartered candied cherries
    1/4 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Combine sugar, sour cream, milk, butter, corn syrup and salt in heavy 2-quart saucepan.
    Stir over moderate heat until dissolved and mixture reaches a boil.
    Remove from heat and let stand until lukewarm.
    Add vanilla and beat until mixture just begins to lose its gloss and holds its shape.
    Quickly stir in walnuts and cherries.
    Turn into oiled pan.
    Let stand until firm.
    Cut into squares.
