Refrigerator Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sugar
    4 c. vinegar
    1 1/3 tsp. turmeric
    1 1/3 tsp. celery seed
    1 1/3 tsp. mustard seed
    1 1/3 tsp. salt
    onion slices
Preparation
    Mix sugar, vinegar and spices.
    Stir until dissolved.
    Have pickles washed and sliced.
    Pack cold in jars with onions on top. Fill with cold liquid, seal and store in refrigerator.
    Will be ready to use in 1 week.
