Golden Donuts - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 egg
1 c. sugar
1 c. milk
1 1/2 Tbsp. lard, melted
6 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. vanilla
4 to 5 c. flour
Preparation

Beat eggs until light.
Add sugar and 1/3 milk.
Sift and add 3 cups flour and other dry ingredients.
Add melted lard and vanilla; add enough flour to make dough stiff enough to handle. Roll about 1/3-inch thick and cut with donut cutter.
Fry in deep hot fat.
Dredge with powdered sugar.
