Fabulous Party Dip - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf Sheepherder's or sourdough bread
    1 stick butter (1/2 c.)
    1 bunch green onions, chopped
    12 cloves garlic, finely minced
    8 oz. cream cheese (at room temperature)
    1 pt. sour cream
    12 oz. grated mild Cheddar cheese
    1 (10 oz.) can artichoke hearts, drained and cut into quarters (not marinated)
    6 small French rolls, sliced thinly.
Preparation
    Cut a hole in top of bread loaf, about 5-inches in diameter. Remove soft bread from cut portion and discard.
    Reserve crust to make top for loaf.
    Scoop out most of soft inside portion of the loaf and save for stuffing or bread crumbs.
