Chocolate Crackles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (18 1/2 oz.) pkg. devil's food cake mix
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    2 tsp. vanilla extract
    1 Tbsp. water
    1/2 c. shortening
    2 c. chopped pecans
    powdered sugar
Preparation
    Combine cake mix, eggs, vanilla, water and shortening.
    Stir with spoon until mixed well.
    Stir in pecans.
    Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll each in powdered sugar.
    Place 1 1/2 inches apart on well-greased cookie sheets.
    Bake at 375\u00b0 for 8 to 10 minutes.
    (Cookies will be very soft when removed from oven.) Cool on a wire rack.
    Yields 5 1/2 dozen.
