Date And Nut Bread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. boiling water
    1 pkg. dates
    2 tsp. baking soda
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. sugar
    3 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 c. pecans or walnuts
    1 egg, beaten
    1 Tbsp. melted butter
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Cut dates and add to boiling water and soda; stand aside.
    Mix all dry ingredients; add egg, vanilla, butter and nuts, then add water and dates.
    Mix.
    Bake in a loaf pan that has been greased and floured for 1 1/4 hours at 350\u00b0.
    I start to check it at 55 minutes, sometimes it's done in an hour.
    Excellent served with cream cheese.
