Boston Brown Bread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 pkg. chopped dates
2 c. boiling water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 Tbsp. oil
2 eggs
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
Preparation

Boil water; add dates and soda, set aside.
Sift flour, salt and powder; set aside.
Cream sugar, oil, vanilla and eggs. Gradually alternate adding flour mixture and date mixture, then stir in raisins and nuts.
Bake at 300\u00b0 for 1 1/2 hours in a 13 x 9-inch pan, 2 loaf pans or 5 vegie cans.
