Fried Okra - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 c. sliced okra
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    3/4 c. cornmeal
    vegetable oil
Preparation
    Combine okra, milk, salt and pepper in a shallow dish.
    Let stand one hour, or until most of milk is absorbed.
    Dredge okra in cornmeal.
    Fry okra in hot oil (375\u00b0) until golden.
    Drain on paper towels.
    Transfer okra to serving platter.
