Orange Slice Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. orange slice candy
    1 lb. dates
    2 c. pecans
    2 sticks oleo
    2 c. sugar
    4 c. flour
    1 1/2 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    4 eggs
Preparation
    Cut candy, dates and nuts in small pieces.
    Leave cut up overnight in pan.
    Sift 2 cups flour over mixture. Cream butter and sugar with eggs.
    Add soda, remaining flour and buttermilk to butter and sugar mixture.
    Pour over fruit mixture.
    Mix well and bake for 2 1/2 hours at 275\u00b0.
    While hot, mix the glaze and pour over cake.
