German Crushed Banana Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or margarine at room temperature
1 1/2 c. sugar
2 eggs, separated
3 medium size crushed bananas
1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
1 tsp. baking soda
4 Tbsp. sour milk *
1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

With an electric mixer, beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
Add egg yolks, bananas and vanilla.
In a cup, stir baking soda into sour milk until dissolved.
Add to butter mixture.
Stir or sift together flour and cinnamon; add to butter mixture.
Beat egg whites until stiff but not dry.
Stir nuts into batter, then fold in egg whites.
Pour into 2 greased 9-inch round cake pans. Bake in a preheated 350\u00b0 oven until done, 35 to 40 minutes.
Cool in pans 5 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack.
