Fudge Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

3 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1/2 c. milk
1 egg, beaten well
2/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
2 c. sifted cake flour (or 1 3/4 c. regular flour)
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
2/3 c. milk
Preparation

Combine chocolate, 1/2 cup milk, well-beaten egg and 2/3 cup sugar in saucepan.
Cook over low heat until thick, stirring constantly.
Cool.
Thoroughly cream shortening, 1 cup sugar and vanilla.
Beat in 2 eggs, one at a time.
Sift flour, soda and salt together; add to creamed ingredients alternately with 2/3 cup milk.
Blend in chocolate mixture and pour into two 9-inch pans. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 25 to 30 minutes.
When cool, frost with your favorite chocolate frosting.
