Ingredients

1/2 c. (1/4 lb.) shortening
1/4 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar, lightly packed
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. plus 2 Tbsp. flour
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 pkg. chocolate bits
1/2 c. chopped nuts
Preparation

Cream shortening and add gradually the 2 sugars.
Beat until light.
Add egg and beat.
Sift flour mixture.
Add vanilla, nuts and chocolate bits.
Mix thoroughly and drop from teaspoon on lightly greased cookie sheet.
Bake at 370\u00b0 until brown.
