Pre-Civil War Pound Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    10 eggs
    1 lb. butter
    1 lb. sugar
    1 lb. flour
    1/2 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. brandy
Preparation
    Separate eggs.
    Beat yolks until thick.
    Add sugar.
    After sifting three times, cream butter and flour, then add mixture of sugar, eggs and flavoring.
    Beat well.
    Beat egg whites until stiff.
    Fold into former mixture.
    Bake in tube pan for 1 1/2 hours at 325\u00b0.
