Ingredients

4 c. flour (unbleached is best)
2 c. sugar
2 sticks margarine (room temperature)
2 eggs
2 to 3 Tbsp. milk or water
1 c. sugar (set aside to sprinkle over apples)
1/2 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. bread crumbs
1 c. chopped walnuts or almonds or pecans
1 c. golden raisins
12 medium apples (Gravenstein or Pippin)
1 egg to be used as strudel glaze
Preparation

Peel and core all apples; slice on a grater.
Put aside.
Get a cookie sheet out for later.
