Jam Strips - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. butter, softened
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. brown sugar
    1 egg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 c. jam
    Almond Glaze (recipe follows)
Preparation
    Cream first 5 ingredients together.
    Mix flour and baking powder together; add creamed mixture.
    Divide dough in half. Press each half into long rectangular strips.
    On one cookie sheet, put both halves lengthwise.
    Using back of a spoon, press out a shallow indention in the center of each strip of dough.
    Add jam into indention.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    When cooled, drizzle on Almond Glaze and cut into 1 1/2-inch bars.
