4 large ripe fresh peaches

saucepan, bring sugar and water to boiling
over moderately high heat, stirring constantly, until sugar
is\tdissolved.
Reduce
heat.
Keeping
mixture
at
a simmer, continue to cook without stirring until mixture begins to turn a dark golden color, about 18 to 20 minutes.
