Beef Stew - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. stew beef
    6 medium potatoes
    6 medium carrots
    3 stalks (stems) celery
    1 medium onion
    1/2 c. flour (season with salt and pepper; optional)
    2 Tbsp. cooking oil
    3 Tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
Preparation
    Cut beef into 1-inch cubes.
    Coat with flour.
    Heat oil in frying pan.
    Brown coated beef, 1/4 at a time.
    Cut vegetables into 1 to 2-inch pieces.
    Combine all prepared ingredients in a 5-quart Dutch oven.
    Fill with water, just enough to cover.
    Bring to a slight boil.
    Cover and simmer 1 to 3 hours (the longer the better).
    Season to taste.
