Taffy (1923)(Over 50 Years Old) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. granulated sugar
    1 c. water
    1 Tbsp. butter
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
Preparation
    Place all ingredients in a pan and cook, without stirring, until small amount hardens when dropped in cold water.
    Pour onto a well-buttered or greased plate and allow it to cool enough to handle.
    Pull until white.
    Form into a flat strip about two inches wide.
    Cut into lengths with clean scissors.
    Wrap in buttered tissue paper.
