Clam Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped onion
    2 c. diced potatoes
    2 cans minced clams in juice
    3/4 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 carrot, diced
    3/4 c. butter
    1 qt. half and half
Preparation
    Drain clams; pour the juice over vegetables.
    Cover with water.
    Cook over medium heat until tender.
    In saucepan, melt butter.
    Add flour and blend until smooth.
    Add half and half a little at a time.
    Do not drain vegetables.
    Add sauce.
    Heat through.
    Cool.
    Reheat.
