Cabbage Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 cabbage (medium)
    1 tsp. salt
    3 Tbsp. margarine
    2 Tbsp. flour
    2 c. milk
    pepper to taste
    1 c. crushed saltine crackers
    2 Tbsp. flour (self-rising)
    1 pkg. Cheddar cheese, grated
Preparation
    Shred cabbage with knife.
    Cook cabbage in pot with 1/2 teaspoon salt and 1 tablespoon margarine until tender.
    Make a white sauce by combining 2 cups milk, 2 tablespoons margarine, 2 tablespoons self-rising flour and 1/2 teaspoon salt and bring to a boil over medium heat.
    Stir constantly as sauce begins to thicken.
    Drain cabbage and mix with sauce.
    In a casserole dish alternately layer cabbage mixture and cheese ending with cheese on top.
    Sprinkle saltines on top.
    Place in 350\u00b0 oven until cheese melts.
