"Mamma'S" Lemon Cream Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. sifted flour
1 1/4 c. sugar
1 c. boiling water
1/3 c. milk
grated rind of 1 lemon
1 baked (9-inch) pie shell
4 Tbsp. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks, beaten with 1 egg white
1/2 Tbsp. butter
2 lemons (1/4 c. juice)
2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation

Combine flour and 1 1/4 cups of sugar in top of double boiler; add water, stirring constantly, then add milk.
Cook until thickened, stirring constantly.
Pour small amount of mixture over egg yolks, stirring vigorously.
Return to double boiler and continue cooking until mixture drops in thick sheets from spoon. Add butter, lemon juice and rind.
Cool and pour into pie shell.
