Grandma Bentley'S Sugar Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    1/4 tsp. baking soda
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. shortening
    3/4 c. sugar
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. lemon extract
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1/4 c. sweet milk
Preparation
    Sift flour, soda, nutmeg and salt together.
    Cream shortening and gradually add sugar.
    Cream until fluffy.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition.
    Add lemon extract. Combine vinegar and milk and add to creamed mixture alternately with dry ingredients.
    Roll about 1/8-inch thick on floured board. Cut and place on cookie sheet.
    Sprinkle with sugar.
    Bake at 370\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes.
    Makes 4 dozen cookies.
