Creole Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Wesson oil
    2 c. white sugar
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. buttermilk
    2 c. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    1 c. boiling water
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Cream oil and sugar in mixer.
    Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each.
    Add vanilla and buttermilk alternately with the flour, salt and cocoa that have been sifted together.
    Last add boiling water mixed with soda.
    Put in greased and floured 9 x 13-inch pan.
    Bake 45 minutes to 1 hour in a 300\u00b0 oven.
    Batter will be thin.
