Autumn Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground beef
    1 c. chopped onion
    3 to 4 c. water
    1 c. cut-up carrots (or more)
    1 c. diced celery
    1 c. cubed potatoes (or more)
    2 tsp. salt
    1 tsp. bottled brown bouquet sauce
    1/4 tsp. pepper
    1 bay leaf
    1/8 tsp. basil
    6 tomatoes, peeled and chopped or 28 oz. canned tomatoes with juice
Preparation
    In a large pot, cook ground beef; drain fat.
    Cook onions with meat until tender.
    Stir in remaining ingredients; heat to boiling.
    Cover, reduce heat and simmer until tender.
    Serves 6.
