Pecan Brittle - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    1/4 c. Karo syrup
    2 c. broken pecans
    1-inch paraffin wax
    butter (size of egg)
    1 tsp. soda
Preparation
    Stir together first 5 ingredients.
    Cook until it starts to yellow.
    Add soda.
    Spread on foil.
    Let cool, then break up.
