Tomato Cheese Pie - cooking recipe
Ingredients

8 slices buttered white bread, crusts removed
4 Tbsp. dry bread crumbs
1 (1 qt.) can tomatoes
1 Tbsp. grated onion
salt and pepper to taste
1 tsp. sugar
2 eggs
4 oz. grated Cheddar cheese or 5 slices American cheese
1 c. milk
1 extra egg white, slightly beaten
Preparation

Butter well a 9-inch pie pan or casserole dish.
Line pan with bread, butter side down, cutting strips to fit around the sides. Brush bread surface with beaten egg white and sprinkle with dry bread crumbs.
Drain tomatoes from the juice.
Lay tomatoes on crumbs.
Sprinkle with the salt, pepper, sugar and onions. Sprinkle evenly with grated cheese.
Beat eggs with milk and pour over all.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
