Mexican Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. corn meal
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. milk with 1/2 tsp. soda
    3/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. bacon grease
    1 large can cream-style corn
    1/2 lb. hamburger
    1 large onion, diced
    1/2 lb. shredded Cheddar cheese
    1 chopped hot pepper (optional)
Preparation
    Brown hamburger and onion in skillet.
    Mix remaining ingredients, omitting cheese.
    Pour 1/2 batter into pan.
    Top with grated cheese.
    Pour meat over cheese, then pour remaining batter on top.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 40 minutes.
