Danish Red Cabbage - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 medium head red cabbage, finely cut or sliced
2 tart green apples, peeled and cut up
2 Tbsp. butter
1 medium onion, sliced
1 qt. water
1/2 c. red wine vinegar
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cloves
1 bay leaf
juice of 1/2 lemon
Preparation

Heat butter in large saucepan. Saute onion and apples for 3 or 4 minutes. Add water, vinegar and seasonings. Bring to a boil and add cabbage. Cover and simmer for 45 minutes or until tender. Use a slotted spoon to serve.
