Ingredients

1 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. sugar
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1 egg
1 c. milk
4 Tbsp. melted margarine or oil
Preparation

Stir dry ingredients together in a bowl.
Mix egg and milk. Add margarine or oil and add mixture to dry ingredients. Stir to blend. Fry on greased skillet. Turn when bubbles break and small holes remain.
Cakes are done when bottom is lightly browned.
