Green Tomato Relish - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 gal. chopped green tomatoes
    1 gal. chopped cabbage
    5 chopped onions
    a little salt
    1/2 gal. chopped apples, peeled and cored
    1 qt. vinegar
    1 qt. sugar
Preparation
    Combine tomatoes, cabbage and onions.
    Add a little canning salt and let stand overnight.
    Drain off most of the juice, then add the apples, vinegar and sugar.
    Cook slowly for 30 minutes. Pack into jars and water bath process.
