Stewed Prunes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. dried prunes
    1/2 lemon or 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    sugar (optional)
Preparation
    In a 2-quart saucepan, combine prunes and lemon.
    Cover with enough cold water and bring to a boil.
    Turn heat down and simmer for about 40 minutes.
    Add more water and sugar to taste.
