Seven Layer Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium head lettuce
    1 c. celery
    1 c. Spanish onion, chopped
    2 1/2 c. grated cheese
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    Bac*Os
    1 c. green pepper
    1 1/2 c. mayonnaise
    1 c. small green peas
Preparation
    Shred lettuce (about 6 cups) in bottom of salad bowl.
    Add celery in a layer, then green peppers, next add onions in a layer. Finish with drained peas.
    Carefully put mayonnaise over the top. Sprinkle on sugar.
    Layer cheese over this.
    Cover and refrigerate at least 4 hours or overnight.
    Add bacon bits on top and serve.
