Grandma Gaul'S Fasnachts - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. (10 oz.) flour
    9 oz. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    3 c. warm milk
    4 eggs, slightly beaten
    1 pkg. yeast dissolved in 1/4 c. warm water
    4 oz. shortening, melted
Preparation
    Mix ingredients in order and beat 10 minutes.
    Let rise until double in size.
    Roll out on floured surface and cut.
    Let rise again.
    Deep fry in oil.
    Serve plain or covered with powdered sugar.
