Coleslaw - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 medium size head cabbage
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1 medium onion
    1 green pepper
    1 c. chopped celery
    1 1/2 c. white sugar
    3/4 c. vinegar
    3/4 c. vegetable oil
Preparation
    In a 9 x 13-inch cake pan, chop cabbage and spread out until about 1 1/2 inches thick.
    Spread salt over the surface.
    Do not stir for 1 hour.
    Stir, then chop onion, pepper and celery.
    Add to cabbage.
    Boil together the sugar, vinegar and oil; pour over the cabbage mixture while boiling hot.
    Do not stir until cold. Refrigerate.
