Stewed Okra And Tomatoes - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. bacon drippings or other fat
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 c. sliced okra
    2 c. cooked or canned tomatoes
    1/2 tsp. salt
    pepper to taste
Preparation
    Melt fat in frying pan.
    Brown onion and okra slightly, stirring as it cooks.
    Add tomatoes and salt.
    Cook over moderate heat until vegetables are tender and mixture is thick, about 20 minutes.
    Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
    Season with more salt and pepper, if needed.
