Ham, Shrimp And Rice - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 lb. shrimp, cleaned and cut in half lengthwise
    1 c. ham, diced
    1 slice ginger root
    1 Tbsp. soy sauce
    2 c. rice, washed
    1 Tbsp. peanut oil
    2 1/4 c. water
    1 bell pepper, diced
Preparation
    Combine shrimp, ham, soy sauce, peanut oil and ginger root. Let stand 10 minutes.
    Place rice in a 2-quart saucepan with tight-fitting lid.
    Add water.
    Bring to a rapid boil.
    Lower heat to medium.
    When all of the water and bubbles have disappeared from the surface of the rice, lower heat to simmer.
    Place shrimp and ham mixture on top of rice.
    Cover and cook 15 minutes.
    Add the bell pepper.
    Cover and cook 5 minutes.
    Serve immediately.
