Homecoming Punch - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 c. sugar
    4 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon jello
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen orange juice
    1 (6 oz.) can frozen lemonade
    1 large can pineapple juice
    1 oz. almond extract
    4 qt. ginger ale
    2 gal. water
Preparation
    Combine sugar and 1 gallon water in pan.
    Heat until sugar is dissolved and mixture is syrupy.
    Add jello and stir until dissolved.
    Add fruit juices, 1 gallon water and extract.
    Let stand until ready to serve.
    When ready to serve, pour 2 quarts mixture over crushed ice and add 1/2 quart ginger ale.
    Yield:
    75 servings.
