Seafoam Kisses - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. light brown sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    3/4 c. water
    2 egg whites, beaten stiff
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Combine sugar, salt and water in saucepan.
    Place on heat and stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Bring to a boil and cook without stirring to hard ball stage.
    Remove from heat.
    Pour syrup slowly over stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly until all syrup is combined.
    Add vanilla.
    Continue beating until candy cools and holds its shape.
    Drop by teaspoonful onto waxed paper.
    Nuts may be added.
