Strawberry Rhubarb Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pie crust
    1 pt. strawberries (fresh or frozen)
    1 pt. rhubarb (cooked or frozen)
    1 large pkg. strawberry jello
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1/2 c. sugar
    ice cream or topping
Preparation
    Mash or slice fresh strawberries or use frozen ones.
    Heat rhubarb to boiling and stir in strawberries.
    Add salt and sugar. Stir well and add jello.
    Taste to be sure it is sweet enough. Cool in fridge until thick as egg whites.
    Stir well so fresh berries are all through the filling.
    Pour into pie shell, then cool until firm.
    Top with ice cream or whipped topping.
