Red Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 1/4 c. cake flour
    1 tsp. soda
    1 Tbsp. vinegar
    1 oz. red food coloring
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 Tbsp. cocoa
    1/2 tsp. salt
Preparation
    Cream Crisco and sugar; add eggs and make paste of cocoa, coloring and vanilla and blend into fat mixture.
    Add salt, flour and buttermilk.
    Mix soda and vinegar; add this while foaming and mix well.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 about 35 minutes or until done.
    Use 2 (8-inch) cake pans.
    Split layers to make four.
