Cherry Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. sugar
    3/4 c. flour (self-rising)
    1 c. chopped candied cherries
    2 eggs, beaten
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar, cherries and nuts into a bowl.
    Add eggs and stir thoroughly.
    Spread into a 15 1/2 x 10 1/2 x 1-inch pan (it will seem not enough, but spread real thin).
    Bake in oven at 375\u00b0 for about 20 minutes.
    Cut into squares while warm.
    Cool and roll in confectioners sugar if desired.
    Makes 5 to 6 dozen.
