Calico Meatball Stew - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. ground beef
1/2 lb. sausage
1 c. bread crumbs
1/2 tsp. oregano
1 egg
4 Tbsp. oil
2 cans (10 1/4 oz.) beef gravy
1 (14 1/2 oz.) can stewed tomatoes
3 1/2 c. potatoes, cubed
1 1/2 c. sliced carrots
1/2 c. chopped onion
1 bay leaf
1/4 tsp. pepper
1 c. frozen peas, thawed
Preparation

Mix beef, sausage, bread crumbs, oregano and egg.
Shape into 24 meatballs.
In 6-quart Dutch oven over medium heat, brown meatballs.
Spoon off fat.
Add gravy, tomatoes, potatoes, carrots, onion, bay leaf and pepper.
Heat to boiling, stirring occasionally.
Reduce heat to low.
Cover and simmer 25 minutes. Stir in peas.
Cook, uncovered, 5 minutes more.
Remove bay leaf.
