Cornbread - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. cornmeal
    1 c. all-purpose flour
    1 tsp. salt
    3 1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 egg, beaten
    1 c. milk
    1/4 c. shortening
Preparation
    Combine cornmeal, flour, salt and baking powder; add egg and milk and stir into cornmeal mixture until moist.
    Put shortening into a 10-inch skillet and put into a preheated 425\u00b0 oven.
    As soon as shortening is hot, coat sides of skillet and stir remaining shortening into cornbread mixture.
    Pour mixture into hot skillet and bake at 425\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until golden brown. Makes 6 to 8 servings.
