Asparagus Au Gratin - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 1/2 lb. fresh asparagus or canned
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 1/2 c. milk
    3 Tbsp. flour
    3/4 c. grated cheese
    1/2 c. buttered cracker crumbs
    almonds (if desired)
Preparation
    Steam asparagus until tender.
    Melt butter and stir in flour until smooth.
    Add milk until mixture thickens.
