Cheese Puffs - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 loaf white bread, firm, unsliced
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
    1/4 lb. sharp Cheddar cheese
    1/2 c. (1 stick) butter or oleo
    2 egg whites, stiffly beaten
Preparation
    Trim crust from bread; cut bread into 1-inch cubes.
    Melt cheeses and oleo in top of double boiler over hot water until of rarebit consistency.
    Remove from heat; fold in stiffly beaten egg whites.
    Dip bread cubes into cheese mixture until well coated; place on greased baking sheet.
    Refrigerate overnight.
    Bake at 400\u00b0 for 12 to 15 minutes, or until puffy and golden brown.
    Yields about 4 dozen.
